Doctor’s Workbench
The doctor’s workbench is the gateway for doctors to the SoftClinic – a hospital management system software. It provides for a single point access to current and future appointments, past history, and reminders, for both outpatients and inpatients.
It is the module that allows the Doctor to record the patient symptoms, diagnosis, and order treatment plans. The user interface has been designed in a way that all the key information about the patient, such as medical observation, lab results, radiology results, and all other relevant information can be viewed in a single screen.
How to Start Consultation
Steps
1.On the day of appointment, Doctor can start consultation from either:
a. Dashboard > Today’s Appointment List. Click More Actions > Start Consultation against the name of the patient to start consultation.

How to record vital signs
- Steps
- Go to Doctor Workbench > Doctor Dashboard > Out Patient (My Appointments) widget. Click More Actions > SOAP Notes against the name of the patient whose vital signs is to be recorded.
a.Chart name, date and time on which the vitals were recorded is automatically displayed.
b.Add height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, respiration rate, and oxygen saturation.
How to record chief complaints
- Steps
- Go to Doctor Workbench > Doctor Dashboard > Out Patient (My Appointments) widget. Click More Actions > SOAP Notes against the name of the patient whose complaints are to be recorded.
- Click Chief Complaints widget.
- Specify complaints.
- Display - select All Visits, to display list of complaints for all the subsequent visits.
- To add multiple complaints, click Save & Add.
- Once you have added all the complaints, to exit from the widget, click Save > Close. If you want to enter record in the next widget, click Save and Next. It will automatically open next widget in which you can start entering details
How to record allergies
- Steps
1.Go to Doctor Workbench > Doctor Dashboard > Out Patient (My Appointments) widget. Click More Actions > SOAP Notes against the name of the patient whose allergies are to be recorded.
2.Click Allergy widget.
3.Select No Known Allergy, if patient does not have any allergies.
4.Click No Known Allergy and specify following information, if patient has any allergies.
5.Specify substance for which patient is allergic and its reaction details.
6.Select allergy severity and its status i.e. whether patient still has the allergy or it is treated and currently is not allergic to the substance.
7.Specify reaction onset details like onset duration, date, and type, and date on which the reaction had subsided.
8.To add multiple allergies, click Save & Add.
9.Once you have added details of all the allergies, to exit from the widget, click Save > Close. If you want to enter record in the next widget, click Save and Next. It will automatically open next widget in which you can start entering details.
How to record diagnosis
- Steps
- Go to Doctor Workbench > Doctor Dashboard > Out Patient (My Appointments) widget. Click More Actions > SOAP Notes against the name of the patient for recording diagnosis.
- Click Diagnosis widget.
- Enter diagnosis and other details like diagnosis state – provisional, differential or final; classification – patient stated or medically condition, type and ranking.
- Specify onset details like onset duration, date, and type. Display - select All Visits, to display list of complaints for all the subsequent visits.
- To add multiple diagnosis, click Save & Add.
- Once you have added details of all the diagnosis, to exit from the widget, click Save > Close. If you want to enter record in the next widget, click Save and Next. It will automatically open next widget in which you can start entering details.
- Steps
- Go to Doctor Workbench > Doctor Dashboard > Out Patient (My Appointments) widget. Click More Actions > SOAP Notes against the name of the patient whose medicines is to be prescribed.
- Click Medications widget.
- Type name of the medicine to be prescribed. Around 2 lacs of different types of medicines are added in the database and for ease of use, the moment you start typing name of the medicine, suggestions will be provided from which you can select.
- Under Details, click Configure and set the dosage – frequency, duration, route of administration. Information is populated and displayed once you save configuration.
- Specify specific instruction if required.
- To add multiple medicines, click Save & Add.
- Once you have added details of all the medicines, to exit from the widget, click Save > Close. If you want to enter record in the next widget, click Save and Next. It will automatically open next widget in which you can start entering details.
